Seabuckthorn plants are dioecious meaning they have separate male and female plants. One male for every six females is required for successful pollination.  

KEY ATTRIBUTES:

Seabuckthorn is a famously prairie-friendly shrub often used in agricultural shelter belts but more recently acclaimed for the super-high vitamin C content of the orange berries. The berries ripen over the summer and are harvested in early autumn. Pollmix is a vegetatively propagated male selection, to be paired with female varieties for pollination. Male Sea Buckthorn varieties do not themselves bear fruit. 

 PRE-ORDER DETAILS:

This item will be available for local pick-up in late May 2026 (close to planting out time). This is potted spring nursery stock established in a 1-gallon pot. Trees and shrubs are warrantied for 1 year from date of pick-up, provided they are planted after June 1, and watered/cared for as required (see refund policy for full details).

No changes or cancellations to orchard plant pre-orders after March 15, 2026, and orders must be picked-up within 14 days of "pick-up" notification being sent in late May.
