Description: This easy-to-grow plant's claim to fame is that the leaves contain indigotin, a natural cloth, and fibre dye. Its colour range spans aqua, teal, and blue-green. The best time to harvest the leaves for dying is just before flowering.

Germination: 14 days at 18 - 1°C.
Sowing: Indoors 6 - 8 weeks before your local last frost date, 2 seeds per cell. For the easiest transplanting, sow into biodegradable starter pots. Apply Sea Magic™ kelp from first watering. Apply a seedling-starter fertilizer such as Evolve Seedling once the second set of true leaves has appeared, and then alternate between the kelp and seedling starter until transplant.

Planting Out: Well-drained soil once seedlings are established and risk of frost has passed.
