KEY ATTRIBUTES:

This is a true blackberry, as opposed to a black raspberry! There are not many varieties of blackberry that can be grown on the prairies, but Chester is the one most frequently planted. Do not cut back in fall, as fruiting is best on old growth (canes can be thinned, but leave some old stalks). We have a Chester blackberry planted in a raised bed (48"x96"x11"), and it survives without issue. 

 PRE-ORDER DETAILS

This item will be available for local pick-up in late May 2024 (close to planting out time). This plant is spring nursery stock offered in a 1-gallon pot. Trees and shrubs are warrantied for 1 year from date of pick-up, provided they are planted after June 1, and watered/cared for as required (see refund policy for full details). No changes or cancellations to orchard plant pre-orders after March 1, 2024, and orders must be picked-up within 14 days of "pick-up" notification being sent in late May. Sage Garden reserves the right to make an appropriate substitution in the event of crop shortages.
