Sandcherries are considered self fertile, but production goes up if more than one plant is in proximity. 

KEY ATTRIBUTES:

Sandcherries are under-appreciated in home gardens, in-spite of many awesome qualities! The large, dark purple fruit are very tasty (and full of healthy anti-oxidants), and the blooms serve as a quality pollination source for popular plums such as Toka, Brookred, Pembina and Tecumseh. Wild plums are an excellent pollinator for the Sandcherry. 

 PRE-ORDER DETAILS:

This item will be available for local pick-up in late May 2026 (close to planting out time). This is potted spring nursery stock established in a 2-gallon pot. Trees and shrubs are warrantied for 1 year from date of pick-up, provided they are planted after June 1, and watered/cared for as required (see refund policy for full details).

No changes or cancellations to orchard plant pre-orders after March 15, 2026, and orders must be picked-up within 14 days of "pick-up" notification being sent in late May.
