Apples require another apple or crabapple with in approximately 500 feet. In urban settings, there are typically trees close enough that you do not need a second tree in your own yard. |
KEY ATTRIBUTES: |
| Developed at the Morden Research Station in the 1950s, Kerr is a cross between the exceptionally hardy Dolgo crabapple and the tasty Haralson apple. The result is a sweet, juicy and highly versatile eating apple that is also very well adapted to the rigours of the prairie climate. The apples can be used for fresh eating, juice, cider and baking. They also store really well! |
