Considered self-fertile, but yields are better if planted with a hardy pear of another type from the Siberian group ( Pyrus ussuriensis), such as Ure or Paul's. 

KEY ATTRIBUTES:

This gem of a tree was noticed as a chance seedling amongst many growing in an urban setting in Alberta. The fruit are wonderful for fresh eating, ripen on the tree in September and can store for several months post-harvest.
