Daylight hours calendar

It feels good to be able to see that the days are actually getting longer.

Drop by this page to check out our daylight calendar whenever you are feeling like winter will never end... and enjoy a quick reminder that spring, and much longer days, are definitely on their way 😊

In the Winnipeg area, we gain between one and three minutes of light per day in January and the last day of January has forty-three more minutes of daylight compared to New Year's Day. By February the daily increase accelerates, with an average of well over three minutes of gain per day right through the month. Sometimes it is nice to know that these patterns are unwavering... there is no question the restorative power of daylight is on our side!

The calendar shows local sunrise and sunset times for the current date, and then fourteen days out.

  • Love the calendar! What a brilliant idea to keep us positive during the darker days. Thank you :)

  • Thank you for this calendar and for your uplifting words. It is indeed a dreary time, especially when days are not filled with sunshine. Most of my long-term houseplants seem to be thriving, while the annuals I rescued from a cruel frosty winter have either waned, given up, or are struggling valiantly—much like many of us humans. In a cold and desolate white landscape, it’s good to see these islands of green life—in my own living-room windows and in the Sage Garden Greenhouses. Stay green!
