Locally grown certified organic shallot sets, with minimum 10 planting bulbs per bag (approximately 1 lb)
Shallots are like refined, sweeter onions and can be planted in spring either seeds or sets (small bulbs). Unlike onions, shallots (Allium cepa var. Ascalonium) grow in clusters around the mother bulb, so each shallot bulb you plant becomes multiple shallots at harvest... like garlic!.
Please note: Shallots can be planted in mid-spring, approximately two weeks before your local last frost date. Store the bulbs in a medium-cool dry location until planting time. Plant individual bulbs 15 cm (6") apart to a depth of about 2.5 cm (1").
