Description: A gorgeous, deep purple bean that has stringless pods and green interiors. Performs in cooler conditions better than any other snap bean. The plants tend to be larger than other bush bean plants. The colourful beans make a great market display when mixed with yellow wax and green beans. The purple colour fades to green when cooked. A 1940's introduction that was developed by Elwin Meader at the University of New Hampshire.
