Start these early and reap the rewards! 

If you love to cook, onions, leeks and shallots are staple ingredients, and just about all home gardeners can have huge success growing them. Alliums work well in gardens big and small, and one of the keys to success is learning to start your own from seed, and start them early.  During this class you’ll learn about the different types of onions, how to choose the best ones for your kitchen and your garden space, and the essentials for starting onions etc from seed in a home setting. 

Everyone will start a generous crop of two styles of onions, two types of shallots and one variety of leek to take home and grow for spring planting. All seeds and soils provided are organic, and we’ll be using sustainable non-plastic pots for the seed starting. 

Workshop Details

• This workshop starts at 3:30 pm and runs to about 5:00 pm
• The maximum class size is 12 participants
• Perfect for all experience levels
• Everyone will start two styles of onions, two types of shallots and one variety of leek to take home and grow for spring planting

• Pre-registration with payment in full is required to reserve workshop spaces
• Sage Garden Member's qualify for a 10% discount on all classes

Cancellation Policy

• Fully refundable up to 48 hours before class starts
• Cancellations after 48 hours but before class starts are refundable as a store credit
• No refunds or credits for cancellations after class has started

• As a courtesy to instructors and other guests, please do not attend classes if you have symptoms of any winter illnesses (refundable as per terms above)
• In the event that Sage Garden is unable to run this class, registered participants will be refunded in full, to the original payment method used for registration
