Description: Lavender is a living aromatherapy delight for a sunny location in the garden! The heavenly blue flowers are most abundant in early summer, often re-blooming in later summer and fall if dead-headed. Ladybugs, butterflies and a wide range of small pollinators are attracted to the flowers.
Munstead is the specific cultivar of English lavender with the most established track record as a perennial in zone 3. In our experience, it is important to plan for a location with excellent drainage, avoid cutting plants too far back into the woody stems and there is no question a simple, loose mulch (eg. loose leaves) over winter yields larger plants with more blooms.
Botanical Name: Lavandula angustifolia 'Munstead'
Zone: 3 (requires excellent drainage and snow cover for best results)
Exposure: Full sun
Height: 25 - 35 cm
