Fluorescent bulbs diminish in brightness over time, and should be replaced before they burn out to maintain best plant growth. Cleaning bulbs periodically also increases light output and ensures your  bulbs are delivering maximum benefit to your plants. Sunblaster T5 bulbs are rated for 10,000 hours; we recommend replacing them after 7,000 - 8,000 hours of use (about 450 days of use).
