Botanical name: Muntingia calabura

Description: A fast-growing plant that produces small red fruits with a sweet flavour. Once mature enough this container fruit is capable of fruiting almost year round. The fruit is often described as tasting like cotton candy (although our experience is that these are much tastier than cotton candy... but they do melt in the mouth and have a delicious sweetness!).

Care: This plant does best in temperatures above 15°C and in bright direct light. Regular fertilizing is important in order to encourage fruiting. This plant is a fast grower so regular pruning is needed to maintain the size.
