Description: Upland Rice does not require rice paddy conditions and is fun to grow in large pots. It is also attractive, with its arching fronds. The key to getting rice kernels is to harvest as late as possible - the rice matures on the plants once they have stopped growing. Tuck plants into a porch or basement if cool weather arrives before the kernels mature.
