Coco Coir is a 100% peat-free byproduct of the coconut industry. It is considered an environmentally friendly alternative to peat in soil mixes. 

Since it can absorb 10x its weight in water, it is popular as an amendment in hanging baskets and planters as it effectively reduces the amount of water required.

As a soil amendment, coco coir lasts longer than peat because of its long fibres.

A 4.5 kg block expands into 2.5 cubic feet uncompressed.
