Locally grown certified organic shallot sets, with minimum 10 planting bulbs per bag (approximately 1 lb)

Shallots are like refined, sweeter onions and can be planted in spring either seeds or sets (small bulbs). Unlike onions, shallots (Allium cepa var. Ascalonium) grow in clusters around the mother bulb, so each shallot bulb you plant becomes multiple shallots at harvest... like garlic!. 

Planting notes: Shallots can be planted in mid-spring, approximately two weeks before your local last frost date. Store the bulbs in a medium-cool dry location until planting time. Plant individual bulbs 15 cm (6") apart to a depth of about 2.5 cm (1"). 

When planting shallot bulbs, choose a location where you can easily water and the soil is rich. Shallots do best when irrigated regularly and they are given abundant nutrients. Place bulbs pointy-side up and then just push into the ground, leaving the top 1/4 of the shallot exposed. Water well.
