BENEFITS OF A MIXED MICRO CLOVER/GRASS LAWN:

Micro Clover is a legume and as such, it fixes nitrogen in the soil and essentially provides nutrients for itself and the grass.

Micro Clover is drought tolerant, once established and paired with Eco-Lawn grass seeds, makes for a sustainable lawn.

Micro Clover has an attractive, deep green look which enhances the look of the lawn.

Micro Clover flowers less than that of other clovers, reducing the chance of stepping on a nectar-seeking bee in bare feet!

Clover forms a dense root system that is better able to choke out weeds than traditional types of lawn.

RATE OF APPLICATION:

Overseeding existing lawn:
100g covers 680 square feet (~ 100 seeds per square foot)
175g covers 1,190 square feet (~ 100 seeds per square foot)
Starting a new mixed lawn:
Add 5% to 10% clover to the lawn seed (100g to 200g of clover seed to a 5lb bag of Eco-Lawn).
Planting a pure Micro Clover lawn:
Seed at a rate of 454 g per 1,000 square feet on bare soil.

WHEN TO SOW:

Spring (up to 2 weeks before last frost date up until the weather becomes consistently warm - micro clover germinates better at cooler temperatures)

Late Summer (8 weeks before first frost date)

Dormant seeding (in late fall before ground is frozen - temps need to be cool enough that the clover will not start to germinate)

OVERSEEDING MICRO CLOVER:
Mow grass to the lowest lawn mower depth
Rake
De-thatch (if necessary)
Water regularly - keep the ground damp but not soggy until the plants have taken root.

Please note that we recommend a lawn that is a mix of micro clover and grass (preferably Eco-Lawn grass seed). Once micro clover goes dormant, it tends to reveal more bare earth - a look that might not be desirable to everyone.
