Description: Just a little taller and fuller than our other favourite container pea (Tom Thumb), Patio Pride is extremely productive from early spring onwards. The snap peas are delicious and tender and produce in just 40 days from sowing. Plan for succession plantings that will keep you nibbling and delighted right through the season.
Pea plants are able to withstand hard frosts if sown outdoors under cool conditions. Sow seeds outdoors as soon as soil can be worked in spring or even earlier to pots with fresh potting mix.

Germination: 3 - 7 days at 15 - 18°C.
Sowing: Indoors: for windowsill peas, sow March to April. Fertilize with a kelp based fertilizer, such as Sea Magic, from first watering.
Planting outdoors: In the garden, sow 1 seed, 2 - 3 inches apart, 1/2-1" in depth. Plant in rows. Support with a short trellis. No need for thinning as pea plants like to be crowded. Sowing in double or even triple rows, 4 inches apart will save space.
Growing in Containers: Very well suited for containers, 6 inches and up.
Fertilizing (Containers): Plant in a composty, well-draining potting mix. No additional fertilizer is typically required.
Watering (Containers): Check regularly. Water deeply when the soil feels dry to the touch.
Growing in Mixed Planters: Can be grown in large mixed veggie planters.
Fertilizing (Garden): Plant in a garden bed amended with compost. No additional fertilizer is required.
Watering (Garden): Water new transplants regularly to establish roots. Once established, water deeply as required.
