Growing from seed is a true opportunity to extend your gardening budget… 

Seed starting does not have to be hard or require extensive equipment. And each pack of seeds can grow a lot of plants! This class will break down accessible options for seed starting, including on the windowsill, under lights, cold-seeding outdoors in very early spring and direct seeding outdoors through the warmer months. The emphasis will be on helping participants match the right timing and location options to the various crops you want to grow; plus, Dave will share a number of fundamental seed-starting tips that can be applied to many situations. You’ll leave this class with a whole new confidence around what you can start yourself! 

All participants get to start an herb, two veggies and two flower selections during the class. The seeds and soil are all organic, and we will be using sustainable wood-fibre pots for the sowing. 

Workshop Details

• This workshop starts at 1:00 pm and runs to about 2:30 pm
• The maximum class size is 12 participants
• Perfect for all experience levels
• All participants get to start five varieties of seeds during the class!

• Pre-registration with payment in full is required to reserve workshop spaces
• Sage Garden Member's qualify for a 10% discount on all classes

Cancellation Policy

• Fully refundable up to 48 hours before class starts
• Cancellations after 48 hours but before class starts are refundable as a store credit
• No refunds or credits for cancellations after class has started

• As a courtesy to instructors and other guests, please do not attend classes if you have symptoms of any winter illnesses (refundable as per terms above)
