Description: A SGH favourite! At 8" tall this is the best dwarf shell pea for container gardening! Kids love growing this plant. Heirloom, dating to the mid-1800's.
Pea plants are able to withstand hard frosts. Sow seeds outdoors as soon as soil can be worked in spring. Also ideal for cold-frame production and for planting in flower borders.
Pack Size: 50 seeds.
Latin Name: Pisum sativum
Main Uses: Vegetable
Days to Maturity: 50-55 days
Exposure: Full sun
Height: Miniature! Only grows to 8 inches tall.
Flower Color: White
Seed Source: Organically grown
Germination: 3 - 7 days at 15 - 18°C.
Sowing: Indoors: for windowsill peas, sow March to April. Fertilize with a kelp based fertilizer, such as Sea Magic, from first watering.
Planting outdoors: In the garden, sow 1 seed, 2 - 3 inches apart, 1/2-1" in depth. Plant in rows. Support with a trellis. No need for thinning as pea plants like to be crowded. Sowing in double or even triple rows, 4 inches apart will save space.

Fertilizing (Containers): Plant in a composty, well draining potting mix. No additional fertilizer is typically required.
Watering (Containers): Check regularly. Water deeply when soil feels dry to the touch.
