Description: Lilacs are among the most reliable and resilient flowering shrubs for the prairie landscape. Aside from their relative ease of care, they are truly beautiful for their flowers, fragrance and pollinator-friendly ways. The two things that can get overlooked when planting lilacs are: do choose a sunny location and feel confident that as the shrubs mature, pruning (sometimes bold pruning) is a healthy practice. It is a really good idea to prune spent flowers, which encourage strong blooming for the next year.

Beauty of Moscow is a tall, vigorous and hardy selection with flowers that emerge pure pink, maturing to pure white. This is an heirloom selection, first introduced in the 1930s. The flowers are double and highly fragrant.
