Botanical Name: Aloysia triphylla 'Golden Wind'
Descriptions: This is a very unique selection of Lemon Verbena, with bright chartreuse foliage and a lemon aroma and flavour that is even sweeter than the standard selection... amazing! Use the fresh or dried leaves for drinks, to flavour desserts, as well as savoury dishes.
Lemon Verbena is a shrubby plant that in its native climate grows into a small tree. That said, it is easy to maintain in containers ranging from six inches and up. The more you pinch the stems, the much fuller it grows (in fact, every time you cut a stem it grows three new ones!). Lemon Verbena is a warm climate plant but does have a natural winter dormancy cycle; as we get into November it is common for this herb to drop most leaves only to burst back into growth a month or two later (do water a little during dormancy). If you prefer to keep Lemon Verbena evergreen, winter the plants under grow lights.
