Bud's yellow Dogwood has the unique attribute of bright yellow-green stems which are very showy above the snow in winter! Through the summer season, enjoy the soft green leaves, white flowers and white berries (in late summer).

Dogwoods are top-notch naturescape plants, providing shelter and food sources for many types of beneficial wildlife.

Trees & shrubs purchased online during our summer sale can be picked up during business hours the same day they are ordered (or held at Sage Garden for a maximum of two weeks from date ordered).

Warranty applies to hardy trees and shrubs purchased on sale up to a maximum 20% discount. Free items in the buy 2 get 1 free sale are not covered by warranty. Qualifying trees and shrubs are warrantied for 1 year from date of purchase, provided they are planted shortly after purchase, and watered/cared for as required (see refund policy for full details). Animal and physical damage to hardy trees is not covered by warranty. 

Planting Tips: 

Trees and shrubs can be planted from June through late September without issue. The following steps will ensure best success:

1) Dig a planting hole twice the width and to the same depth as the plant's container

2) Fill the hole about half way with water

3) Remove your plant from its container (including from fibre pots) and break open the roots - this step is very important (the roots will not establish well if they are bound up)

4) Position your plant centred in the hole and so that the base of the trunk is just above grade; back fill with the soil that you dug out earlier (current research shows that using the native soil improves outcomes compared to adding other types of soils/amendments)

5) If your new plant requires support, stake or otherwise secure

6) Plan to protect your tree/shrub from rodents, rabbits and deer - these creatures can be very hard on newly planted material and animal damage voids plant warranties

7) Plan to water daily for the first week, then about every 3 - 7 days (weather dependent) through the rest of summer and into fall

8) There is no need to fertilize in the first season, but plan to apply a slow release organic tree & shrub fertilizer in June and then mid-July in subsequent years
