Crafting a Witch Bottle
Date: Saturday, February 3; 3:30 pm - 5:30 PM
Instructor: Dodie Graham McKay, Covenstead Candle Co
Details: Witch bottles are a magical tool that are used for protection from malevolent spirits, negative forces and bad intentions. Early examples of these talismans dating as far back as the 16th century have been found throughout England and the United States, buried under buildings or hidden inside walls, containing everyday items repurposed for magical intent.
In this workshop we will explore the history and symbolism of witch bottles, learn how they were used in the past, and how that use has developed into a living practice today. Participants will then have a hands-on opportunity to craft their own witch bottle and find out how to put it into practical use. All materials will be provided.
This class includes: Small group instruction with Dodie, plus all materials to create your own Witch Bottle.
As a bonus, all participants will be entered into a draw for a pack incredible, earthy botanical incense, to be drawn for at the end of the class!
Registration: This class requires pre-registration and has a maximum of 12 spots available. Please use the add to cart button to complete registration.
