Sowing: Indoors 4 - 6 weeks before the last frost date. Sow 2 - 3 seeds per cell or plug. For best results, apply Sea Magic™ kelp from the first watering. Apply a seedling-starter fertilizer such as Evolve Seedling once the second set of true leaves has appeared, and then alternate between the kelp and seedling starter until transplant. Germinates best in the dark. Outdoors in early spring as soon as the garden can be dug. Pre-chilling sweet pea seeds in the fridge (in moist paper towel) for 5-7 days before planting, improves germination.
Planting depth: 1/2” deep. Cover with soil.
Special Requirements for Cold Climate Gardeners: Thrives during the cooler late spring season and fall. Plants may become scruffy in the heat of summer.
