Pick-Me-Up #3 - Fern Project 2023!
This item may be out of season or currently out of stock. Please check back.
At the best of times, winter can be an in-between time for gardeners, with most seed-starting still a month or two away and outdoor gardens a daydream at this point. Winter can also be a time when we need planting projects the most, as many struggle with the effects of winter darkness and cold weather fatigue.
This kit is perfect for anyone who: is curious about how plants work, loves to propagate, and is happy to watch plants develop and change over an extended period. The fern that grows is called a Japanese Holly Fern, which is a fabulous houseplant!
What this is all about: Ferns have a very unique way of reproducing compared to the more familiar flowering plants, and we are sharing a little kit to help you get a whole new perspective on plant propagation. Ultimately, this is a very simple setup that has already been prepared for you when you pick it up... then you get to enjoy watching things grow from there!
Please note: we have only a limited number of these projects available due to the small number of mature spores available at the moment.
The project includes:
- One 4.25" organic eco pot
- Organic potting soil
- A leaf section with mature fern spores
- A Ziplock to enclose everything
No additional special equipment is required and this project can be done in any indoor space with some natural light (does not have to be bright).
