Description: Great booms are timeless! 'King Edward' sweet pea was introduced by the famous horticulturist Henry Eckford in 1903 and has been going strong ever since! The bold red flowers are fragrant and hold up well as a cut flower. Heirloom.

Sowing: Indoors 4 - 6 weeks before last frost date. Sow 2 - 3 seeds per cell or plug. For best results, apply Sea Magic™ kelp from first watering. Apply a seedling-starter fertilizer such as Evolve Seedling once the second set of true leaves has appeared, and then alternate between the kelp and seedling starter until transplant. Germinates best in the dark. Outdoors in early spring as soon as the garden can be dug.

Special Requirements for Cold Climate Gardeners: Thrives during the cooler late spring season and fall. Plants may become scruffy in the heat of summer.
