Description: The bronze-tinged lacy foliage has a sweet anise flavour. While it doesn’t produce bulbs, the foliage makes an excellent garnish or seasoning in salads. A member of the parsely family, Fennel is a host plant for Swallowtail Butterflies. A very attractive alternative to green fennels.

Germination Instructions: Sow seeds indoors just beneath surface of soil - peat or coir pots are ideal. For best results, apply Sea Magic™ kelp from first watering. Apply a seedling-starter fertilizer such as Evolve Seedling once the second set of true leaves has appeared, and then alternate between the kelp and seedling starter until transplant. Transplant outdoors after danger of frost has passed. Prefers well-drained rich soil. Has a tendency to self-seed.
Harvesting: Harvest foliage any time, snipping with sharp scissors.
Growing in Containers: Well-suited to larger pots (12 inches and up).
Growing in Mixed Planters: Well suited for larger mixed planters. Think square foot gardening!
