Description: A distinctive, old-fashioned-but still-popular garden flower known for its unusual green bell-shaped calyxes. Insignificant tiny white flowers have a lovely fragrance. A gorgeous element in the cut-flower bouquet. An attention-getter in the flower bed. Heirloom.

Germination Instructions: Sow seeds indoors in starter pots, 8 - 12 weeks before average last frost date. Moisten soil, then gently push seeds just below soil surface. Germination can take up to 4-6 weeks. For best results, apply Sea Magic™ kelp from first watering. Apply a seedling-starter fertilizer such as Evolve Seedling once the second set of true leaves has appeared, and then alternate between the kelp and seedling starter until transplant.Transplants can be moved to the garden in late May (southern Manitoba) after hardening-off.
Special notes: Prefers average soil (as opposed to very rich). May require staking.
Growing in Containers: Grows very well in larger containers and raised beds.
Growing in Mixed Planters: Not-well suited for mixed planters.
