A favorite for the medicinal garden in no small part due to its highly ornamental daisy-like blooms and deep-green foliage. Native to Eurasia but well-adapted to other regions, this tender perennial has a long history as an herbal medicine for treating inflammation: as early as the first century, Greek herbalist Dioscorides described feverfew's usefulness in his De materia medica.
Grown in full sun, feverfew will develop into a tidy bush reaching up to 30" tall. The dainty white flowers also hold up well in bouquets and vase arrangements.

Germination Instructions: Sow seeds outdoors early in spring when ground has warmed, or start indoors 4-6 weeks before planting out date. The small seeds can be gently scattered onto moistened soil, then covered with a light layer to keep them in place. For best results, apply Sea Magic™ kelp from first watering. Apply a seedling-starter fertilizer such as Evolve Seedling once the second set of true leaves has appeared, and then alternate between the kelp and seedling starter until transplant. Prefers rich well-drained soil and a sheltered location out of the wind. Will readily volunteer each year from dropped seeds.
Harvesting: Harvest flowering tops when full open
Growing in Containers: Well-suited to larger pots (12 inches and up)
Watering (Containers): Water deeply when top inch of soil feels dry to the touch. Check every day or two during very hot weather.
Growing in Mixed Planters: Well-suited for larger mixed planters. Think square-foot gardening!
Suitability for Indoors: Can be grown indoors under lights.

General Indoor Care: Because Feverfew is a botanical perennial, it may get scruffy through the winter indoors. Do not be shy to cut established plants back by 50% or more to encourage strong re-growth.

Winter Fertilizing: Fertilize monthly through winter with an organic plant food.
Winter Watering: Water deeply when soil feels dry to the touch.
