Pitcher Plant Sarracenia Purpurea Venosa Red - Live Plant
Please check in-store for current availability...
Currently out of stock.
Container Size: The plant pictured here is from our in-store selection photographed in August 2019. Exact pot size/style may vary.
Details: Pitcher Plants are one of our favourite carnivorous plants, proving to be much more gardener friendly compared to most! Grows fairly quickly, and does not seem sensitive to various water sources (unlike many other carnivorous species). This variety is low-growing with red clumping cups. Native to North America!
Grows best in average to bright diffused light. Be sure to maintain constant soil moisture, but do not grow in standing water. Do not force-feed the pitchers, instead let flies find their way into the cups. We plant these in a specialized soil mix that includes unconditioned peat moss (more acidic) and compost.
Order Info: We are not currently taking web or phone orders for live plants, instead focusing on our in-store availability at the garden centre. Please be aware that inventory can change quickly and is not updated in real-time, so feel free to call ahead to confirm availability on items you are particularly excited about!
Shipping Info: Due to ongoing disruptions with Canada Post delivery guarantees and the difficulty of safely shipping live plants during summer heat we are pausing shipping of live plants until further notice (existing pre-orders are still being shipped, via FedEx Ground, and are unaffected by this notice).
