Seeds - Flowering Tobacco (Nicotiana) 'Jasmine-Scented' OG
Sorry, sold out. We look forward to offering this item again soon...
Description: white-flowering ornamental tobacco that explodes with nocturnal fragrance. The splendid flowers last from summer through fall. Easily one of the sweetest-scented flowers, Nicotiana offers its intense aromas to the night, as it is pollinated by moths. Lovely, pendulous white flowers on 24-36" plants. Very easy to grow. Plants will reseed if left in the garden.
- Interesting fact: Nicotiana is a cousin to petunias!

Apply a seedling-starter fertilizer such as Evolve Seedling once the second set of true leaves has appeared, and then alternate between the kelp and seedling starter until transplant.
Sowing Outdoors: Sow seeds directly in the garden in early June, once the soil has warmed and there is no chance of frost. Direct-seeding is an easy way to start Nicotianas.
Planting depth: Direct-sow seeds by scattering lightly on the soil surface. Lightly press into the soil.
Growing in Containers: Well-suited for large raised beds, but not smaller containers.
Growing in Mixed Planters: Not suited for mixed planters.
Fertilizing (Garden): Plant in a garden bed recently amended with quality compost. No additional fertilizing is required.
Watering (Garden): Water deeply to establish. Water mature plants weekly during hot weather.
Pest/Disease Issues: Nicotiana attracts aphids, whitefly, beetles and cutworms away from Broccoli, Cauliflower and Broad beans (this is a good organic gardening strategy!).
Suitability for Indoors: Not suited for indoors.
