Description: The deepest red-purple carrot on the market! The core is a contrasting yellow-orange. Sweet flavour mingles with spicy tones.

Artwork by JiaJia Hamner. JiaJia's work, made with ink and watercolour on paper, depicts the magical beings of the underworld. She has also included the chemical symbol for anthocyanin, the compound responsible for this carrot's deep purple hue.

Interesting fact: Carrots were purple before they were orange! In fact, purple carrots date back thousands of years. Aside from their flavour and beauty, purple carrots are loaded with unique antioxidants called anthocyanins (common to purple fruits and berries; not present in orange carrots). Anthocyanins are associated with anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antimicrobial and anti-carcinogenic benefits when consumed regularly.
