April 15, 2019 (6:30 - 8:00pm): "The Plants"

Did you know carrots can be purple and pumpkins white? There's a type of gourd that can be transformed into a birdhouse and we can grow chickpeas in Manitoba too! There are so many interesting plants out there but be careful, each plant has different growing needs and days until harvest. Learn how to decipher seed packets, start seeds inside  and common gardening terms. Be introduced to some weird plants that can be grown in Manitoba which will inspire your students. Leave with a planting project to take home and a list of plants you'll want to grow in your school garden.

Registration now open to all MAME members and is FREE... but pre-registration is required as space is limited to 30 participants per session. This is a four part series, so if you are interested in attending all four be sure to register early for each one, so as not to miss out!

This workshop is being hosted at St. George School, at 151 St George Rd.
