Description: Stinging Nettle has a prickly reputation, but this herb is valued for its many folk-medicine benefits. Easy to grow... maybe even too easy! Plan to create a stinging nettle patch, as opposed to individual plants on their own. Keep soil moist for healthiest growth. Most people do react upon touch when interacting with fresh leaves, so it is recommended to wear long sleeves and gloves when handling. Cooked stinging nettle does not prickle!

Harvest nettles in their second year of growth when they are 4' high. Steam, chop and sauté with oil and garlic, then enjoy their delicious nutty flavour!
